Sortimo, the world leader and trend setter in customized in-vehicle racking solutions, wanted to show off their Bavarian roots with their presence at this year’s IAA for Commercial Vehicles.
Through our selection of materials, we were able to recreate the airy and lively character of an Alpine hut in the middle of the exhibition hall. The main structure was encased in a large-format cloth graphic printed with an eye-fooling wooden décor that lent the entire stand a homey charm.
Inside the stand, rustic furniture and panoramic mountain graphics continued the Alpine hut theme. The clear lines and design reflected the high quality for which Sortimo’s product line is famous.
As was also the case at IAA 2012, this year’s exhibit was designed with sustainability in mind. Together with Sortimo, Heilmaier Messedesign, recently certified as a “Sustainable Company,” was able to realize a climate-neutral trade show stand.
CO2OL, our partner from Forest Finance Service GmbH, has developed a CO2 Footprint Calculator which we used it to calculate that approximately 5,000m³ of CO2 would be produced for Sortimo’s exhibition stand and an additional 12,000m³ by the travel requirements of their staff and visitors. We then compensated for that CO2 production by contributing to “ArBolivia—New Forests for Local Development.” ArBolivia is an initiative of smallholder farmers in Bolivia, reforesting degraded parts of their pasture and farm land with a mix of native tree species since 2007. This upgrade of degraded land enables a sustainable ecological forest management. We are extremely pleased to be able to contribute, together with Sortimo, towards the environment.
As we say in Germany: "Tu Gutes und sprich darüber,” which is difficult to translate. Literally, it is “Do well and talk about it” but the sense is more “Don’t hide your light under a bushel.”
